Large and thriving industrial automation products company, with product lines that include PLCs, HMIs, Drives, Motion, Fluid Power, and Process Instrumentation, needs a Product Data Manager.
The Product Data Manager works with Product Managers and others throughout the business during the new product launch process to help govern and define new product data as well as maintain it throughout the product’s life cycle. Responsible for the import and export of data from the Product Information Management (PIM) platform, ongoing normalization, and database structure defining how the data is stored and used by downstream systems. This data is used to drive our customer-facing webstore pages, technical documentation, and internal company warehouse and business systems. Also involved with using and improving the processes for product data collection, validation, and maintenance. Key participant of governance group which is responsible for creating, using and improving all processes to provide, govern, validate, and maintain product data. Accountable for all aspects of data delivered by the PIM and, as such, is charged with the quality, accessibility, completeness, timeliness, accuracy, and standards of the data.

Responsibilities:
Data Creation-
- Work with Product Managers to lay out timetables for data-driven tasks when launching new product
- Gather technical attribute information from Product Managers and Engineers
- Ensure new data meets data quality standards as established by the governance group
- Serve on the data governance committee and lead PIM-related launch meetings
- Import technical specifications and associated values into PIM system to prepare for warehouse systems, technical documentation, web store, product catalog and online shopping feeds
Maintenance-
- Complete PIM-related tasks to support the Gecko process
- Common attribute updating (pricing, product group, supplier part numbers, etc)
- Supporting and improving existing operational processes, incorporating feedback and needs of others in the value chain
Development-
- Contribute to future business projects, both in planning and execution phases
- Provide oversight during development of projects to ensure the data needs and requirement requests are met
- Adding attributes to existing database, collecting new data from stakeholders and populating it in PIM, testing new processes prior to go live
- Informing Product Managers and Engineers of their roles in new PIM tasks and assisting/training them to do so
Qualifications:
- Requires education in technical discipline with preference for Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems OR AT LEAST 5 years of equivalent experience
- Requires strong skills and experience with MS Excel
- Requires excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Requires high level of concern for data accuracy and meeting deadlines
- Requires ability to execute multiple and simultaneous projects
- Knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM) or Riversand’s MDMCenter is desirable
- Knowledge of Industrial Control and Automation products is desirable
