Seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and organized Electrical/Controls Designer! 

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Electrical/Mechatronic theory and be familiar with National and International codes related to Control Systems and Machinery. The candidate should also be able to work independently with minimal supervision while consistently meeting project deadlines.

Responsibilities / Essential Functions:

  • Uphold the Company’s Core Values of Excellence, Integrity, and Respect in all work-related activities.
  • Develop accurate Bills of Material (BOM) based on conceptual models and layouts.
  • Produce detailed and precise panel layouts with multiple views and reference dimensions.
  • Create clean and well-organized electrical schematic packages efficiently and within project deadlines.
  • Generate neat and orderly pneumatic diagrams on time.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with Management, Mechanical, and Software Engineers.
  • Provide support to Electrical and Assembly Technicians during the commissioning and troubleshooting phases.

Qualifications:

  • An associate’s degree (A.A./A.S.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical institute is preferred.
  • Proficient with Windows OS and software applications such as Microsoft 365.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience wiring or working with controls hardware.
  • At least 2 years of experience using CAD software (E-Plan, SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • 1-2 years of experience programming controls-related hardware (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards:
    • NEC (National Electrical Code)
    • NFPA 79 (Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery)
    • NFPA 70E (Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace)
    • UL 508A (Standard for Industrial Control Panels)
    • ISO 13849-1 (Safety of Machinery)
    • RIA 15.06 (Industrial Robots and Robot Systems Safety Standard)

Work Environment:

  • Most work is performed in an office and shop environment.
  • Regular trips to client facilities and/or manufacturing plants may be required based on project responsibilities.
  • Travel up to 10% will be required, along with the flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and/or holidays to support client needs during projects, including project meetings, installations, commissioning, shutdowns, and/or scheduled maintenance.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move between standing and sitting.
  • The employee frequently needs to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, including pushing and pulling; and communicate verbally and audibly to ensure safety procedures are followed.
  • The employee must frequently lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
