Our client is seeking a Control Panel Technician to join its team in Champlin, MN. This is an opportunity to use your electrical and controls skills to build and wire industrial control panels, PLC systems, VFDs, MCCs, instrumentation panels, and other electrical assemblies.

What You’ll Do
- Build and wire electrical control panels to UL 508 requirements.
- Read electrical schematics, panel layouts, bills of materials, and manufacturing documents.
- Layout and mount components according to engineering drawings.
- Assemble and wire PLCs, VFDs, MCCs, power components, and instrumentation panels.
- Use hand and power tools to fabricate and assemble panels.
- Apply panel-building best practices to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Document project notes, delays, and issues.
- Participate in 5S and continuous improvement activities.
- Follow shop and warehouse safety procedures.
- Work independently while collaborating with project teams and coworkers.
What You Bring
- 2+ years of experience building electrical control panels.
- Electrical or electronics education or training preferred.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and panel drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Good hand dexterity and mechanical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work with limited supervision.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. independently and heavier loads with assistance.
- Willingness to work overtime when workload requires.
Pay & Benefits
$23.00–$39.00 per hour, based on wage rate/classification under the applicable IBEW Local 292 Minnesota Statewide Agreement.
