A national company is looking to add a Controls Engineer to their team. This role offers a good balance of mentoring and personal growth. You will be joining a team focused on designing, documenting, delivering, and commissioning electrical controls for Utility scale power systems equipment. The role will involve design and implementation of electrical controls solutions for power systems including generators, switchgear, breakers, substations, etc. You will be working with power systems at 4160V and above. You will interact directly with customers and manage small independent projects as well as participate in larger team projects while continuing to grow your technical and professional competency to support increasing responsibility within the organization over time.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Deliver innovative automation solutions for Power Utility and Critical Infrastructure projects
  • Lead daily operations and activities of a projects
  • Develop control system architecture
  • Select the components to be used for the control system
  • Detail schematic diagrams and system documentation
  • Programming controllers (PLC, DCS)
  • Programming the process visualization (HMI/SCADA)
  • Develop databases for historical system data
  • Implement control systems at the client’s facility
  • Collaborate with project manager on; developing project execution plans, work breakdown structures and associated budgets, task prioritization and scheduling, task ordering, time tracking and reporting, financial tracking and reporting, early problem identification, conflict resolution, attending project status meetings. Also includes
  • Technical writing including project definition and requirements, status reporting, process control sequence of operations, standard practices and procedures, scope of supply, requests for information, customer correspondence and code commenting

Desirable Skills, Experience, Education

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Control Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineerin, Mechanical Engineering
  • Must live within 1.5 hours of New Hampshire
  • Experience with Rockwell, CLogix, and FT or OSI PI.
  • In-depth understanding of PLC hardware/software platforms such as Rockwell Automation, Siemens, and Modicon.
  • In-depth understanding of HMI/SCADA hardware/software platforms such as Wonderware, Aveva, GE, Rockwell Automation, Schneider, and Siemens.
  • Understanding of DCS hardware/software platform such as Emerson DeltaV or similar.
  • Experience in industries such as: Utilities, Power Systems, Critical Energy Infrastructure
  • Experience in design of electrical schematics, control panels, including power distribution under 480VAC, and associated NEC references desired.
  • Experience with AutoCAD is also desired
  • Experience leading a team of engineers/technicians to provide control system solutions
  • Experience mentoring less experienced engineers
  • Professional references, preferably one from each of the following: a subordinate, a peer, and a manager.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%.
