Position Summary:

The Controls Engineer will design, install, and integrate control systems to monitor machinery and processes for client projects. This role includes project submittal preparation, vendor interaction, material selection, fabrication assistance, and field startup and calibration services. The Engineer will work independently on specific technical areas, provide technical support for large projects, and serve as project manager on smaller-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain communication with Project Managers and the Director of Engineering.
  • Support engineering development of control systems based on project requirements.
  • Develop expertise in controller programming, SCADA applications, telemetry techniques, and project-specific instruments.
  • Test and implement control system hardware.
  • Maintain thorough project documentation in line with company standards.
  • Support installation, startup, and testing activities on-site as needed.
  • Ensure completion of tasks within established budgets and timelines.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders throughout project execution.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide regular status updates.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in Instrumentation, PLC, MMI, SCADA, and telemetry systems.
  • Familiarity with control systems devices, Microsoft Office, and CAD software for electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Knowledge of construction and engineering contract formats, including AIA documents.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships.
