Portland Oregon systems integrator is hiring a Control Systems Project Manager.

Nearly NO travel.  Ideally, this is an office role with an occasional visit to a site within the region.

What do you need to know if you’re interested in this role?

Three to five years’ experience and familiarity with Water/Wastewater industry and controls integration. Here are the basics. If you want to see if you have the real edge read all the way to the bottom!

  • Project management – Communicate, Coordinate, Collaborate, and Document
    • Communicate with customers throughout a project life cycle. This includes emails, phone calls, onsite meetings, etc. as needed to relay both technical and non-technical information about a project’s status.
    • Communicate job schedule, budget, and any issues with management.
    • Coordinate with the CAD department on control panel design and electrical schematics.
    • Coordinate with Project Assistant and Project Coordinator on the creation and delivery of product data, panel layout, and electrical schematic submittals.
    • Collaborate with our internal panel shop during panel construction. Fielding questions regarding panels.
    • Collaborate with team to maintain awareness of project budget and project schedule, investigating situations, and implementing corrective measures where needed.
    • Document and review of technical documents to comprehend the scope, integration requirements, and budget of a project. This includes both internal bid documents and external contract plans and specifications.
    • Document obtaining purchase orders and placing material orders.
    • Document drafting and submitting requests for information (RFIs).
    • Document control system sequence of operation manuals.
  • Knowledge of the Application Process
    • Familiarity with control panels, PLCs, VFDs, SCADA, P&IDs and devices.
    • Maintain version control of PLC/HMI/VFD programs.
    • Application of design knowledge and best practices to select the appropriate part numbers for components to satisfy the integration requirements on a variety of project types.
    • Identifying, drafting, and submitting change orders utilizing company procedures.
    • Project documentation such as test forms and instrument calibration sheets.
    • Operational readiness test procedures
    • Performance verification test procedures and factory acceptance test procedures (FAT).
    • Maintaining updated field redlines during onsite work.

Education

Technical/Associates degree in related field or equivalent experience.

It would be great if you had this experience:

  • Familiarity with PLC and HMI Programming
  • Familiarity with control panel design and testing. This includes point-to-point testing of control panels and conducting in shop witness FAT tests with the customer
  • Familiarity with MCCs / motor control circuits
  • Familiarity with Instrumentation setup, calibration, and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with communication networks (ethernet, routers, VPNs, network switch management, etc.)
  • Familiarity with radio communication telemetry systems
