Electrical Controls Engineer

This company is an industrial control system integrator working with OEM’s and users on their requirements. The purpose of this role will be to provide completely new project execution from system concept through to commissioning and support of existing systems at customers.

This person is expected to have knowledge of the National Electrical Code and UL 508 requirements. Must be proficient user of Rockwell (AB) products and software. Will be responsible for all aspects of project execution and be able to manage time effectively across multiple projects.

Position Responsibilities

  • Electrical schematic and hardware design using AutoCAD – 1-2 years’ experience at least.
  • Hardware design and selection in accordance with the National Electric Code and UL 508 requirements.
  • Work with/support the panel shop activities on panel build projects.
  • One – two years of PLC programming experience – All Allen-Bradley PLC Products, but other controllers are also required by customers.
  • One – two years of HMI programming experience –Allen-Bradley FactoryTalk View SE, Factory Talk View Me, & PanelView using
  • VFD programming and setup. ABB & AB are the principal brands. Advanced understanding is preferred.
  • Servo and motion control programming.
  • Manage personal schedule of responsibilities on multiple projects and communicate with other employees & customers.
  • Travel to local and remote customer sites is required. Travel is mostly project based and can vary based on project timelines but should be around 15%.
  • Troubleshoot and perform repairs and modifications on the mechanical, electrical, or software aspects of equipment at customer sites to customer’s satisfaction.
  • Assist in the start-up, checkout, installation, and testing of equipment.
  • Excellent customer relations and interpersonal relations skills including a high degree of diplomacy.
  • Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

Qualified?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 1 – 2 years’ experience with the responsibilities outlined above.
  • Experience with hardware design and selection in accordance with the National Electrical Code and UL 508 requirements.
  • Ability to travel 15% to local and remote customer sites is required.

Note: To comply with state laws, the annual base salary range for this position has been provided as a guideline. The final salary offer will be determined based on factors such as work experience, education/training, key skills, and other considerations.
