    Our client is in the medical industry in the Salt Lake City, UT area and needs a talented Sr. Automation Engineer with at least 6 years of programming Allen Bradley PLCs. Design experience with SolidWorks or similar is highly preferred.

    Requirements:

      • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university is highly preferred.
      • 5+ years of experience programming Allen Bradley PLCs and HMI is required.
      • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing industry, like food/bev, pharma, medical is required.
      • Clean room experience is highly preferred.
      • Extensive experience using project and program planning tools and software packages to create, manage, and track project results.
      • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
      • Demonstrated business acumen and successful experience managing all aspects of programs, including communicating with stakeholders and directing matrixed teams and resources.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
      • Ability to effectively communicate program plans, proposals, and results. , and negotiate options at senior management levels.

Travel Requirements: Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time


    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Experience with high volume fully automated production machines.
    • Must have extensive experience with Allen Bradley PLC programming and with control, HMI, I/Os.
    • Experience with the electrical hardware, schematics, and wiring per NEMA STD is desired.
    • Networking and automatic data acquisition.
    • Hands on experience with the following but not limited to: Machine design, machine fixture design, CAM driven machines, pneumatic actuators, servos, stepper motors, EFD dispensing valves, vision systems, sensors, sonic welding, pick-and-place mechanisms, pad printing, electrical test instruments, air-leak testers.
    • Determine machine requirements, evaluate needs and translate them into feasible and economical equipment solutions.
    • Capable to perform reverse engineering, measure and spec out tooling, and create 3D models and 2D drawings. .
    • Provide knowledge on capabilities of key automation suppliers and providers of automation design and equipment manufacturing.
    • Experience with lean manufacturing (yield improvements, machine uptime improvements, MUV/scrap reduction, changeover time reduction)
    • Experience with process validation support IQ/OQ/PQ
    • Six-Sigma Methodology (DOE, Process Capability, Gage R&R, etc) – use of Minitab Software for analysis
    • Diagnose and provide feedback for product nonconformance, CAPAs, and customer complaints.
    • Direct experience required in formulating detailed project plans and managing activities/tasks and track progress electronically.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate concepts, challenges, and project plans to all levels of the organization.
