You will work on technical projects about 70% of the time on the plant floor and 30% at your desk. This position is for the evaluation and implementation of automation and controls improvements to enhance the efficiency, quality, compliance, customer service, and safety of manufacturing operations. Evaluate existing process controls, suggest and evaluate controls improvements. In addition to PLC/HMI programming you will provide technical support to projects, including automation design, implementation, and validation. Works on projects with more experienced engineers and managers.
This role is 100% onsite at their manufacturing facility in the New Britain, CT area.
Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Electrical Engineering. Other engineering disciplines may also be considered: Chemical, Mechanical, or Biomedical engineering.
- A minimum of 4 years of automation experience is required. Preferred experience: controls or automation engineering, developing machine and process control systems, in one of pharmaceutical, food, medical or cosmetic industries.
- Clean room experience is preferred!
Requirements:
- Must have at least 4 years of experience programming PLC and HMI: Allen Bradley, Factory Talk
- Robotics experience.
- Mechanical design experience with SolidWorks or AutoCAD is strongly preferred.
- Must have a good understanding of electrical troubleshooting and a basic to intermediate understanding of engineering disciplines.
- Have awareness of the broader equipment strategy and contribute to it.
- Ability to receive general project direction and solicit input from more experienced engineers.
- Requires the ability to independently make decisions that impact the attainment of project objectives.
