We’re looking for an Automation Engineer – Drives & Controls to join a high-performing team focused on modernizing and supporting drive and control systems for web converting equipment. This role is ideal for someone with deep technical expertise in PLC/HMI programming and drive system integration — especially in retrofit or legacy environments.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop robust PLC programs using ladder logic, function block diagrams, and flowcharts

  • Design and deploy HMI applications tailored to web converting systems

  • Configure and troubleshoot PLC network architectures

  • Integrate and support AC/DC drive systems — including legacy hardware

  • Conduct in-house system/software testing and validation

  • Provide on-site and remote technical support for installations and commissioning

  • Collaborate with sales on system evaluations and contribute to technical proposals and documentation

  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, service, and operations teams

  • Contribute to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and EHS&S compliance initiatives

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering

  • 7+ years of experience in automation or controls engineering

  • Strong programming experience with Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens PLCs

  • Hands-on expertise with AC/DC drive systems, AutoCAD, and supervisory controls

  • Solid understanding of industrial control networks

  • Bonus: Experience with web handling or converting equipment

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex systems

  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities

  • Proficiency with:

    • Windows OS & Microsoft Office

    • Ladder Logic

    • Function Block Programming

    • HMI Configuration

    • Drive interface & programming tools
